They've got no place in English football. They add nothing and are just one more thing for scrotes to cause trouble with.

Agreed.

I know someone who got badly burned and scarred by a flare at a match in Italy. Not something I would be in favour of.

I think we should import other European fan traditions.

I am going to try to smuggle a scooter into the upper Holte and chuck it over the front of the stand.

I'm bang up for that.  I'm going to throw a pigs head at Downing when he tries to take a corner for West Ham.

Also, first defeat, let's all go mob handed to Bodymoor Heath for the next training session and beat the shit out of the players.

With you all the way. The fan culture here in Australia is the euro version and it's shite. The songs/chants are led by a guy with a megaphone. Not spontaneous and it sounds like the fans have no brain between them. And flares are a pain. I used to like 7 Nation Army but now I want to boak when I hear it.

I don't see the problem at big night games. This is the best non-Villa game I've been at and it was like Dresden in there (without the fatalities) but certainly added to the atmosphere although it didn't harm that my favourite team in Brasil pumped Boca that night.  ;)

Mind you it was even more impressive for the final which I didn't make.

How about flares at an indoor basketball game?

Both clubs share the anthem Horto Magiko. Love the anthem and I like both clubs although I've no idea why an abundance of shamrocks and tricolours especially in Flu's claret, white and green would appeal to a Villan from Ireland. :)

I can't see how any one can support people chucking these things when their use has put people in hospital.
Why don't we go back to throwing bog rolls? You can get a giant pack of them for a reasonable price at Costco.
