I can see Helenius taking either Gabby or Weimann's place this season. He already seems a more intelligent and technically-gifted player then both of them.

That's a bold statement based on a few friendlies against inferior opposition.
It isn't particularly bold when you consider that neither Gabby nor Weimann are known for their intelligent play nor their technical-efficiency.

The key to this game and the season, has to be how the midfield can
a. protect the defence
b. assist the attack

At times, during last season the midfield were simply absent.

NB. The match is the live commentary on BBC Radio 5 Live.

That's a blow. I've got a feeling he might play Bacuna there rather than KEA.

I was just thinking the same thing on bacuna. Arsenal are weak in terms of defensive midfield and bacuna has plenty of running power to join in with the forwards.

Tonev does too, but as discussed at length here it just leaves us too vulnerable.

I do think bacuna seems like he gives the ball away a bit too much though at the moment.

Even though KEA has had a good pre-season I think I'd rather see Bacuna start on Saturday. Delph needs to sit on Wilshire and Luna needs to dominate Walcott .

Bacuna would be my choice as well, I think there's something a bit special about him, not sure what it is but I really think he'll prove to be a great signing.

Hope PL puts Okore as LCB and Delph in front of Luna to watch Walcott. Okore battered Torres and Ashley Young against Chelsea in the champions League .......

I was chatting about a case we are jointly working with an Arsenal season ticket holder earlier.

After the work formalities were completed we got onto the important business of the game the weekend.

He doesn't agree that a striker is priority and thinks Giroud and Podolski will get plenty.

He is mightily concerned about their defence and thinks they need two more in there to consider a title challenge.

He is shitting it about what Benteke will do their defence and has predicted three all on Saturday.

Bacuna definitely has a more physical presence than KEA and seems willing to take a risk or two to open up the opposition. Tonev can do this too and it wouldn't surprise me if PL goes with the latter.

Seems Arsenal have a few injury doubts for Saturday.

Arteta is certainly out, Cazorla (the difference last season) was playing at Altitude in Ecuador late last night so he won't be 100% and Walcott and Sagna went off with injuries.

Back 4 of:

Kenny Samson-Mertaskacker-Koscienly-Gibbs.

At least Samson will have a bed for the night.
