Villa Kids' Summer Soccer Schools
« on: August 01, 2013, 04:11:02 PM »
Hopefully this will filter back to the club.

My son has been going all this week to the one at Lichfield. It has been excellently run and my lad has absolutely loved it.

Big thanks too to Bryan Small for looking out for Gary and generally being a top bloke. Simone Farina  is also coaching which is bad news as Mrs Javu has already questioned me on the "blond, Italian one". I haven't spoken to him but I gather that he has one of those accents that make women go all giddy.

I can thoroughly recommend these Schools for your kids and really hope they do more in our fair city.

P.S. Sorry about the kit, but he's already gone through his Villa shirts. There are now a couple of (Aston) Villa signatures on the back in any case.

Great stuff. My two did a couple of mornings with Carla Davis last week. she is one of the Villa ladies. really enjoyable for them both. My lad has been doing a similar thing with a bat and a ball at Edgbaston with the mini bears. Loads to do for the kids. Well done Villa and Warks.

Just hope they don't have your diamond head ;)

Thanks, do you remember that flat header into the top corner from 18 yards against Safeway .  . Shit!

I went to a couple of these between 1995 - 2002 at the Redditch one as it was held every easter and summer. I always enjoyed them, even held the league cup trophy in the 1996 which have a photo somewhere. Loved that you got free tickets to the Villa and was nice to be coached by the club for a week. It really helped me improve at football as a kid and gave me a lot of confidence. Would recommend if you have young kids who are either struggling at football or not enjoying it to go to one as it teaches you enough to make you enjoy it.

I'm assuming there was one of these or similar in Stourbridge last Friday. Just as I set off for the Crewe game a long line of kids in Villa kit were seen wandering in single file along the Hagley Rod at Old Swinford. We gave them a bit of a chant from the car, just to get them used to wearing the shirt in front of the best supporters of the best club in the world!
UTV!

My Son (12) & Daughter (8)  did the camp at Tamworth the week earlier and my nephews are at the Lichfield one at the posh school this week...

It was great and they had a fantastic time, they do them most years. Brian and the team are lovely and really help the kids. This year Mark Albrighton came to see the kids and sign autographs etc which the kids were really excited about.
