Still no allocation info on the OS, I wonder if it's a case of "see how many you sell" as it's first game of the season?

I'd imagine with it being first game and 3pm we've taken the full 3k.

Yep, especially as London games go, the ticket price is fairly reasonable

Guess I'll have to sit in the home end for this one again.

Might not be a bad thing, last two seasons been in the away end and we've lost both whereas was undercover in the home end from 2007-11 and we won twice and drew one of the four games.

I've massively messed up by not arranging a ticket for this.
If anyone knows someone who can no longer make the game, please let me know - even if you only find out at short notice.  i am looking for 1 ticket.

thanks, in advance.  Ian

Likewise, have asked before and will ask again no doubt...but after a ticket for myself, will also be able to go at short notice. (disappointed but not surprised didn't go beyond (or even get to!) STs).

I've been trying to get through the barrier that is the lions clubs websites for ages, sorry to hear their allocations reduced, I have to confess it is/was the chief motivation for joining one, having not been to arsenal away since Highbury. I used to live right next to it and usually saw them more often (against villa often home & away) than all the gooners I worked with in East London...

SoccerHQ do the home tix usually go on sale to non-members ?

Paying £50+ adds to my pessimism about going to Chelsea, but more achievable I guess!

I think I might get lynched if I put this on the HD bit of the site but do us London based Villa fans actually meet in real life as opposed to on the internet?  It's bad enough living most of my love life via the internet without football.

I'm keen to get to some games this year, and have previously travelled solo, however if there are people going to the pub/catching trains together then I'd be keen to join in.

The Kingston Lions have good meet ups, but after the reduction in ticket allocation I don't know if as many will be able to get tickets from other sources now. I think a few of us are meeting up somewhere before the Arsenal game if you have a ticket?

The legendary meet up was in the Marylebone Tup in about 2008, when over 20 of us from H&V were in the back room to see us draw 2-2 with Liverpool on the telly. Superb night that was.

I looked on the London Lions thing on H&V, but the most recent posts were years old.  If/when such meet ups take place then it'd be cool to know (where to look).  I might pop up to Islington for the Arsenal game anyway as I used to live up there and there are loads of pubs that need a re-visit.

Are the Kingston Lions on the list of sub folders on here?  (nae dramas, I'll check after sending this)

They're an official lions club, Dante, look on the official site. Might see you for the Arsenal game then!

getting a bit off topic, but to direct you/others to the right place maybe,

there is also the

Heroes & Villains, the Aston Villa fanzine »
    Membership Groups »
    London Villains

http://www.heroesandvillains.info/forumv3/index.php?board=20.0

that is ready for a revival, err, last post was nearly a year ago, but few of us are on there.
;
There was a much bigger lovely proper literary lions event way way back - hmmm i just googled...it was 2001 (!!)  with Simon Inglis and Richard Whitehead  where i collected addresses and set up a yahoo list that was superseded by the London thing on here. I'm afraid multiple commitments have meant i rarely meet up, but have met some great and very generous folk here...

[edit: sorry saw the replies already...guess it'd still be good to get that bit of this site going again as beyond the official lions clubs which I've had a mare trying to join, it's the most likely place new folk would look?]
