The Open 2013
« on: July 15, 2013, 07:45:13 PM »
The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers aka Muirfield, starting on Thursday.
I haven't decided on my bets yet, any thoughts?

Nicklaus, Trevino, Watson and Player have all won it there...

Very very open this year. Colsearts as a decent outside bet if he can drive it relatively straight.

I've had Tim Clark and Stewart Cink e/w.

I won the Masters, follow me.

Or don't because I never win anything else.

I don't think any of them will win it.

I didn't realise that "The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers" and "Muirfield" were the same place.

I played "The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers'" course back in 1990, so I guess that I played Muirfield without realising it.

Unless they have more than one venue.

I'll go for Westwood (again!) He's got to do it one year, surely?

Rose has got to be one of the favourites, with hard fast fairways he has the accuracy and control.

Have an inkling Poulter or Lawrie could spring a surprise. Must be good each way shouts.

Noticed I had a pound left in my account so have gone 50p each way on Kaymer to win. Big stakes indeed. Is he likely to come close?

Big Phil, Snedeker, Lowry and Lawrie for me.

If the weather stays like this, it will be very tough come Saturday afternoon and Sunday!

I checked with UKR Senior today. Whilst we did go to Muirfield we didn't actually play the course. In fact, he reminded me that they kicked us out for trying to get in the clubhouse.
