Thanks for the link, fantastic. I really enjoyed looking at them photos. I wish I remember 81-82 a bit more! Great seeing the photos with Big Ron as in my lifetime that is my favorite time.

Villa Park has got to be the most impressive stadium in the world while the Old Trinity Road was in place.

Thoroughly enjoyed looking through those photos.

The no. 8 in the 'Chester semi' is Graham Paddon. Definitely West Ham.

Absolutely, it looks like Brooking is in the wall.

If you click onto the Mirrorpix.com link at the bottom of the article you can source more fantastic pictures. On the website for example put Villa Park in the search engine and it will come up with all sorts of pictures from the past. However, the picture of the Holte End that was in the Evening Mail just after we played Cardiff on Boxing Day 1968 and featured an 11year old My Left Foot with his long departed Dad could not be found. I understand from friends on this site that I will soon be able to get this image when the Birmingham Archive Library reopens in September.

Anyway I hope you enjoy the amble down Memory Lane if you are of a certain age. Thanks for posting the link Mr W.

Why have they displayed the Highbury Clock End crowd pic back to front?

I'm sure I was at that FA Cup game versus Liverpool in 1967.  We lost 1-0 and prior to them scoring a blatantly offside goal Willie Anderson hit the bar.  Had that gone in I'm sure we would have gone on to win as we were playing really well considering we were shit at the time.

Liverpool had all decisions given for them even back then.  St John scored their goal btw.

I like that away kit. Surprised it hasn't really made an appearance since.

Great pics. Thanks for posting them. Great to see Pat McMahon's goal. Standing on the Holte that night it was quite difficult to see clearly how he actually put the ball in the net, only that he did.

Also nice to see the splendid facade of the wonderful old Snow Hill station before that particular piece of corporation vandalism had taken place.

I still love the picture of Brian Little mid-air, I might get a canvas of that made for my living room.

Some fantastic photographs on there my favourite would have to be the Brian Little one where he is in mid air.  Spotted myself on one of the photos as well.
