I have no problem with whatever his name is from the boyband, he gave up his time to play in the Petrov game and no doubt raised money doing so, and he is doing the same for Doncaster.
What gets me is the hatred and bile coming from his fans on social media, death threats and copious use of the "N" word aimed at Gabby, I hope whatever his name is will come out and condemn this, but I doubt he'll want to upset his fanbase somehow. He will go massively up in my estimation if he does though.

The 'N' word eh? Oh well, I suppose we already knew they were fucking morons from their musical taste. Now we know they're fucking racist morons as well. The dim-witted ******.

Why do old folk get so worked up about boy bands?

Basically because boy bands are shit and its hard to escape the god awful noise and PR they muster.

I have a 13 year old daughter who loves them and I can quite easily avoid hearing them if I wish so I'm sure you can. From what I've heard of them they seem to be one of the better pop acts of recent times.

I wish Bono was so avoidable.

Oh.

People go on about things they don't like, that's the way it is.

I manage to avoid Bono no problem these days. Don't think I've heard anything his band have released in the last 14 years or so.

Seems like it was a great occasion. 60,000 there? That's a wonderful thing.

I wonder if we'd have been able to fill Villa Park? I'd like to think so, though didn't we get about 10,000 for Paul McGrath's? Or am I imagining that?

I did wonder that myself..........

There were some proper good players on display today, that in itself would attract a good crowd with people also coming to honour Stan.

I notice Bouma played today, he never played at VP again in a first team game again after his broken leg so we could give him a send off aswell.

Celtic would bring in loads aswell to the game, they'd fill up the North stand no problem.

It would be good to have a return game in the future, maybe a little cup game going as some clubs do. Get Styles next on the Agbonlahor hitlist.

I feel sorry for the kid. its was a full on challenge from a top professional athlete. it knocked ten shades of sh*t out of him and I can't seehow gabby can come out of this looking anything other than a bully. yeah, funny in a way but the kid was playing in a charity match and although I didn't seethe game I bet there weren't too manyfull on challenges. Not sure what gabby was playing at or what he was trying to prove.

A full on challenge? Gabby just tried to nick the ball off him and there was a clash. Bully? Don't talk daft.

There's got to be a chant in this somewhere, preferably to a 1D ditty.

"gabbys crazy crazy crazy and he comes from brum"?

Or even just the chorus to one way or another?

I haven't particularly dug deeply but I haven't seen the 'N' word, yes it's all silly and pathetic (as my very own 1D'er said) but they are silly, immature children. Most kids start their musical journey liking pop music and throwaway bubblegum pop and those that say they didn't  are either liars or Bobby Gillespie.

Dave said 'copious use of the 'N' word'.

It made me very angry. I didn't mean to aim it at your daughter or anybody who wouldn't/didn't use the 'N' word.

Mate, just watch it. He barely touched him.

barely touched him for a competitive matchmaybe but a muscled-up prem player against an unassuming kid is always going to end one way.

Barely touched him in any context.

Can't say I've ever heard a 1D track, or if I did I can't remember.  That #Prayforlouis stuff is pretty funny though.

Aston Villa better get ready for lot of demand for Agbonlahor 11 Villa shirt due to Nigel Kennedy and he sorting out Louis from 1D and I never heard of those boy band 1D before.

I wonder what Martin O'Neill say to Paul Lambert today about his Villa management career :)
