Full on challenge? It was nothing like one. And there were a fair few closer to full on ones, especially while Balde was on the pitch. Have you seen the Gabby challenge?

Why do old folk get so worked up about boy bands?

Basically because boy bands are shit and its hard to escape the god awful noise and PR they muster.

I have a 13 year old daughter who loves them and I can quite easily avoid hearing them if I wish so I'm sure you can. From what I've heard of them they seem to be one of the better pop acts of recent times.

Zayn is the best.

Yes we get it! You like Zayn! Jeez!

I feel sorry for the kid. its was a full on challenge from a top professional athlete. it knocked ten shades of sh*t out of him and I can't seehow gabby can come out of this looking anything other than a bully. yeah, funny in a way but the kid was playing in a charity match and although I didn't seethe game I bet there weren't too manyfull on challenges. Not sure what gabby was playing at or what he was trying to prove.

It was a shoulder barge and not a particularly big one.

I'm sure Gabby was playing the pantomime baddy and didn't mean to hurt anyone.

I wish Bono was so avoidable.

Oh.

People go on about things they don't like, that's the way it is.

I think it's an education for the lad if he thinks he has any desire or right to play professional football. What club is he at this season? Its on an as and when and if he can get in the side deal or something??? But yeah, the way he was running, arms flapping around like a girl, he just did not look anything like a professional footballer. In those celeb charity matches you get the odd player like Robbie Williams mate, or Ralf Little who do far better impressions of a pro footballer, but are still miles off.
It wasn't even that hard a challenge from Gab, but its certainly an eye opener. If Tomlinson plays in one of the lower league games this season, he'll suffer far worse. Perhaps it'll make him realise he's not quite cut out for it. Certainly you have to give your all to this game and be on it full time.

Chill out fella.  He's a lifelong Doncaster Rovers fan, and he signed for them on a non-contract basis to play in friendlies and charity games and whatnot.  He's given them worldwide publicity, and gets to live out his dream of playing for his club.  Fair play to him I say.

That said, given his reaction to a light tap from Gabby, I also think its fair to assume that he is a massive, massive fanny.

He signed for Doncaster Rovers, he may be reconsidering that particular decision since he threw up after coming off

It was a nothing challenge, bit like when the co commentator suggested Gabby bottled a challenge with Douglas near the end, is he going to risk injury?. is he feck. Great day and well done to everyone involved, Stan is sure a popular guy and well done to John Terry, obviously a god friend of Stan.Dont give me the bollox that he is trying to improve his popularity, does he actually need that?

I think you're missing the point.

He's not pretending he has any right to be a professional footballer, he's signed for some lower league side (forget who) as a publicity gimmick.

I've just spent far too long writing a little song about Gabby clattering your 1D man:

Marvellous!

He will play a few reserve games for Doncaster, boosts their coffers a bit from the reserve gates (they are charging £7 to see his debut) and some publicity for him and Donny.

I just can't stop thinking with England's current dearth of striking talent that Gabby should be in the Ukraine as opposed to in the mind of every 12 year old girl at this very moment in time.

I have no problem with whatever his name is from the boyband, he gave up his time to play in the Petrov game and no doubt raised money doing so, and he is doing the same for Doncaster.
What gets me is the hatred and bile coming from his fans on social media, death threats and copious use of the "N" word aimed at Gabby, I hope whatever his name is will come out and condemn this, but I doubt he'll want to upset his fanbase somehow. He will go massively up in my estimation if he does though.

Innit.

I've doubted him in the past, but the last 1/3 of last season and this season so far, he's been excellent. See also Delph, F.
