Season before last, Blackburn with AMcL, wasn't it?
So, not that long ago

Bring it all on.  I'm surprised we are not at home for our first game but, apart from that, I've no complaints.

10/11 was the last time we started at home, West Ham just after Pubey did a runner.

It was the season before that - Kevin MacDonald's 3-0 win against West Ham.

To be fair, we have had our fair share of first games at home.

2010/11 West Ham
2009/10 Wigan
2008/09 Man City
2007/08 Liverpool
2005/06 Bolton
2004/05 Southampton
2002/03 Liverpool

I am glad we have not got any of the promoted teams early.  that is always the worse team to play them .

Arse, 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' and Chelsea to start, away first and last games of the season again - either someone doesn't like us or they're taking the piss. Surprised they didn't make the Palace game away on Boxing Day just to rub it in!

The Palace fans have the reverse journey, though. And I could see it becoming the 5.30 TV game.

Yeah but getting to Villa Park (for them) is a massive sight easier than us getting to Selhurst Park anytime, let alone on a Bank Holiday when public transport in that there London will be limited.

ESPN won't be showing any EPL games this coming season, BT have got 1 of the 5 packages (with Sky having the other 4). I've been told BT will actually be showing the 12.45 Saturday games rather than the 17.30's that ESPN have, not sure if that's correct or not.

News International have the online rights so they're going to make The Sun (like The Times is already) a paid online service and will have an app out like ESPN.

Tough start. I dunno, you could argue it gets some hard games out the way early, but it all honesty I want our new side to hit the ground running. It would have been nice to get Hull at home to start, and a few low end teams in the first months. That said if we pull off a couple of good results it'll do this team wonders I think. Liverpool will not relish visiting us because of Benteke. Newcastle is a good game to have early, whilst they're still suffering the Kinnear effect.

Liverpool at home is not an easy fixture, but then its not a hard one either. They're just about upper end mid-table and will be without their racist vampire.

Winnable? Too fucking right it is.

And Suarez will be suspended for the Liverpool game. So I see 3 points there

Not read through the rest of the thread yet, but I assume I'm not the first to say it - the idea that reproducing a list of football games is a punishable offence is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. Seriously, who thinks to copyright a fucking LIST?? And who the Hell gets pissy when it gets written down by somebody else?

When human civilisation collapses and the end times come, we'll look back at stupidity like this as the starting point.
