Some Eastern Europeans may find it hard to adapt but there are a fair few who are living, working ( very hard mainly) and enjoying life here.
I come into contact with a lot of Polish people in my work and I actually think its a breath of fresh air having them here.

There is plenty of east europeans people to meet when I went out to salsa nights. So if he like dancing he got a social network apart from his team. But I won't recommend him to dance on the night before a game :)

I was talking about footballers only - not in general about working and living in Britain.

I was going to say. I know plenty of Polish and Romanian people who have settled in just fine.

He can always borrow our spare room if needs be and I will show him the bright lights of the Black Country...

A few in the Duke, a curry at Karma's, feed the ducks in Mary Stevens Park. That sort of thing.

I doubt a millionaire Premier League footballer will want for company.

When Stan first moved to Glasgow he was so bored that he used to help his mate out on Saturday nights, selling burgers from a van in Maryhill.

Was that through boredom or to improve his english.  Either way its a pretty cool thing for a professional footballer to do.

Both, if I remember his autobiography well. My recollection was that he took a time to settle in Glasgow.

Fair play - if only Savo had served me a burger after a night on the razz in Snobs (is it still there?) he could have beaten Billy Walker's scroing record.

I've not been in there for years. I always prefered Edwards No8 though.
