I rate Lichaj as a full back and would have retained him.

Honestly , if we wish to improve , he's not good enough. Wish him well, this is a good sign for me in terms of lambert raising the bar.

He's certainly a better player than 'championship level' and would be a good signing for any of the promoted clubs, and one or two survivors from this season too.

I would guess that what Lambert wants from a full back is not what he has to offer. Under another manager he may well have started the season first choice.

In terms if full backs, I wouldn't be surprised to see us go for cresswell and perhaps Sam Byram from Leeds

I think Lambert would probably be more than happy to give Eric a one year extension but we couldn't really do much more. That however would probably do little good for Eric. He's got to be looking to play regularly for someone at this stage of his career. I think that will mean dropping to the Championship for a year, where a club will probably give him 40 odd games.
I don't think we'd actively be looking to sell Eric if he still had a couple of years left on his deal. But as it's run out, and at his age it's probably just best for all concerned for him to leave now. A good servant, hard worker and mostly reliable. Good luck to him.
We'll replace him with someone 4-5 years younger with more potential.

Best of luck Eric.
He never left us down in terms of effort.
Not a bad RB. Not so great at LB.
He will do a good job wherever he goes from here.

Worth mentioning he has a few caps for the US and gets called up for most of their squads so in world cup year he'll want to be playing week in week out.

If someone was stupid enough to pay for Ireland i'd carry him wherever they are. Even if it's to join Emile in Australia.
