My more serious answer is 8th.

7th and Europa League.
This season will have been the making of these lads, we'll be flying come August.

Somewhere in the top eight.  I reckon Everton and West Brom could potentially have dodgy seasons.

8th - satisfactory
7th - good
6th - jolly good!

After 33 games in the past three seasons we have only been on about a point a game before going on to secure safety.

Next season I genuinely think we will be on about 45 points with 33 games gone with a late surge such as this helping to push us into the top seven.

The crowds are back. We are an improving side. Everton are changing manager, United are changing manager, Spurs might lose Bale we have a good manager. We could find ourselves benefiting from upheaval elsewhere to secure a quick return to European football.

Too early to say with any degree of certainty, way too many variables. We've got the basis of a bloody good team here though.

I don't want the Europa League, awful tournament imo. Agree that this group of players will be stronger next season, really excited by some of the stuff they've been playing recently, Lambert got it right, also impressed with how our fans stood by him, many otgher clubs fans wouldn't have. UTV

Agreed.  Next season could represent an opportunity to do better than anticipated.

Above the frigging Baggies after doing a wonderful double over them and setting their records for worst defeats.

8th.

Even with how bad we've been this season, conceivably we could end up with the same number of points as the 10th place team.

Forget next season.  Anyone notice that if the results go to form (and Southampton -Stoke share the points) and we beat Wigan on Sunday, we could finish 11th on 43 points.  Bonkers league this year!

2nd surely (to Chelsea)
United in disarray, City in disarray, Arsenal on the way down, Spurs without Bale, Liverpool without Suarez, Everton without Moyes, everyone else rubbish.
No doubt...

My wife, who cannot face seeing me rant through a 4th straight relegation campaign, says 'mid-table mediocrity', please.
