Goal difference Saturday 3pm versus Monday 10pm:

Norwich -20/ -21
Sunderland -7/ -12
Newcastle -17/ -23
Villa -27/ -22

It doesn't often get better than that.

Yep an incredible 11 goal swing between us and Newcastle from plus 10 in their favour to plus 1 in ours - the jawdees must be feeling a bit shell shocked after that as GD could have been their big advantage over us and Wigan.  A 1 goal win over Norwich would make our GD better than theirs as well.

Anyone know the attendance tonight? It looked pretty full on TV.
I know there was a lot riding on the game, but if we can get 40 000 on a Monday night against Sunderland, who would've brought a mini bus full and for a televised game, then we must be doing something right. Shows we've still got it, in my view.

What a performance!!!

Absolutely superb. All of them brilliant. Sylla in the middle of the park added steel and broke up the play!! The front three deadly and then the full backs got forward and were full of confidence.

We have got dunne, ireland and given on huge wages get rid of them somehow and replace them with a solid centre half, another midfielder who scores goals and another player who can play across the front three and we will have a bloody good team next season for not a huge outlay

I wasn't at the game this evening, but in my experience Sunderland have always had good away support.

Fantastic result. You could tell lambert had told the team to not settle too. That goal difference is really important. I'm so, so happy right now.

For all the shit paulo has dished out. For the messiah pose he gave up towards the trinity stand when they equalised. This just tastes oh so sweet!! This is what football is about.  I love my team!

I'm not a big fan of fascists, but fair play to Di Canio for joining in the Petrov applause.

They didn't quite fill the bottom tier and didn't have anyone in the top tier. Hardly surprising though given the distance and the fact it's a Monday night.

I'd be well surprised if we don't get a bid for lowton on the summer. He's starting to look "Top4" good now he's finding his feet. Thought he was MOTM tonight by a mile with all due respect to Benteke.

I reckon he's got to be pretty close to an England call up soon.  I know he has some mistakes in him defensively but he has a great attitude and fantastic technique and will get better and better in the next few years.

I know benteke got MOM but for me Lawton was the best player on the pitch tonight. Sensational.

Steady on. He's not up there with Walker, Richards and Johnson yet.

Give him time and he might be.

Wouldn't swap him for any of them.

Lowton's got a bit to learn defensively, but none of the above are particularly known for their solid defending.

Oh, and can that display finally put paid to any notions anyone has of wanting Craig Fucking Gardner back at at this club? He was absolutely abysmal.
