I don't like the fact we'll know the Wigan result going into this game. It puts pressure on us. If we're back in the bottom 3 and must win it'll be tough. If we're ahead of Wigan and have chance to open a decent gap, then again, very hard on us. I'd prefer to be playing at the same time on a saturday as our relegation rivals. That way their outcome is less in our thoughts and we can focus fully on the game in hand.

i think your worry is our team's mental fragility. you can't put the blame on sky for that!

I wouldn't worry too much about the Wigan game two days earlier putting pressure on us. We all have to play four games before then and given the relative closeness of the teams down there, the table could look very different by then.

Club have sent out an email apologising for inconvenience caused by "the game being selected for TV broadcast" and stating that Junior ST can be upgraded to an adult seat free of charge and ST holders can now bring a friend for £5 and relocate to any area of the stadium free of charge.  A decent gesture for messing us about I suppose.

Season tickets and normal tickets.

Normal tickets is easier to solve, the premier league should implement policies which state all clubs should only sell tickets up to x weeks in advance and that sky have to confirm fixtures before that time.  That massively reduces the chances of someone having booked flights/hotel/trains, etc to make a game which they subsequently miss.  As a villa fan away from home this is the one that would effect me and it's largely financial as I'd have to pay about £400 to travel over, stay a couple of nights and get tickets, etc.

For season ticket holders the financial part is less important.  Sure they could refund you the cost of that game but you're still missing a game that you had a ticket for, purely because the date has been moved.  I'm not sure how you solve that whilst Monday night games still happen so the only real option is to get a major petition of all the clubs organised to express this, but would it get enough support and who would want to organise it?

Works out ok for me as I though I would miss the return of MON as I had commited to a game at Darlington for a close friend of mine.

I agree, so the rules would need to change to make it 6-8 weeks notice for it to be workable.

Almost impossible for me to get to Monday night games because of work and 200 mile round-trip; this will be the second I've missed recently. The viagogo re-sale option simply doesn't work for matches on telly, unless I sold my season ticket for a fiver I couldn't hope to recoup the outlay. I'm seriously thinking of not renewing for first time in 25+ years. With the discounted tickets on sale per game now, there is not a sensible reason to continue beyond blind loyalty.

For the West Ham game I lost a lot of money rearranging my flights but then again it was stupid of me to book flights so far in advance. If I was planning to attend the Sunderland game (which I almost was given its importance) I would have majorly pissed off that it had happened again and at such very short notice!

The club probably doesn't care that much if you actually attend the match or not, just as long as you have bought a ticket.
