Excellent win and I'm quite exhausted after putting all my nervous energy into watching it.

Looking forward to MoTD.

Get on football first - whole game at 8-15 pauline:)

Not sure I've got the energy to sit through the 90 minutes again.

I'm tempted to save the crowd won us that today in the second half. Best atmopshere in years. Great stuff from the Holte end.

In fairness QPR battered us in the first half after our annual slow start in a 6 pointer and huge we somehow got to half time at 1-1.

Second half was much more like it. As predicted our front three + N'zogbia are keeping us up. Benteke was probably our weakest player today and scored the winner.

You've got to fancy us to get two more wins at least this season, I really can't see us going down on 36 or 37 points, QPR won't get that for a start.

You have to feel sorry for poor old 'Arry, don't you? The wobbly-faced twat.

Thank you Aston Villa for a great birthday present of 3 points. Guzan and Weimann were amazing. Kevin Friend was shocking.

Kevin Friend was it?  Awful.  He must've found those 5 minutes in some kind of time warp.

Kevin Friend was shocking.

He really was. If it wasn't for the proven, long-standing reputation for scrupulous integrity and honesty that Harry enjoys, I would have sworn he'd paid him off.

Just before half time I was thinking this looks like the Wigan performance. They defended deep, we passed it around but no width and no threat. So different second half, Weimann and Gabby caused them problems and with Zamora off they lost their link from defence. Thoroughly enjoyed the second half and the result is just MASSIVE. It seems to me the team and the crowd are really pulling together, noisy Holte which is what we need from now on. here's hoping!

Not only did he give them 5 minutes at the end but once the 5 minutes was up he kept the match going long enough for them to have that last pop at goal. Still, that brown envelope was earned!

Thought the linesman was awful too second half, some very dodgy decisions when QPR looked offside. The ref, what can you say? So many shocking decisions, very poor. He booked Bannan for his first innocuous tug on a player and waved play on when Gabby was fouled several times, never went back to the players to book them.
As others have said, good job we all believe that the premiership is not corrupt in any way or you would start to wonder.........

Just a massive relief and we have given ourselves a real chance of staying up, so sweet to send Harry and small time Qpr back down south with nothing, the players will have gained a lot of confidence from these two wins , they are showing so much spirit now and seem very together as a group, Paul Lambert deserves some praise for this and he must be feeling so much happier tonight, he has been under incredible pressure since the turn of the year so I hope he enjoys tonight as much as we do.

Agree with soccerhq above.
The crowd were brilliant today. I haven't heard us make that much noise for years.
Well done everyone.

That last shot at the end... terrifying. Where did 5+ minutes of injury time come from? I thought the referee was absolutely shocking today.

Guzan... if we stay up he should be carried off the pitch in our last game, colossal.

Everyone else deserves credit, even Bennett, who if he could only cut out those big mistakes might be decent. Special mentions to Weimann and Gabby for their tireless running and endeavour, and Benteke for the winner.

Disagree brontebilly. Bannan and Westwood played at a pretty similar level today. Both pretty good in possession. Neither offer much protection for the defence. It's pretty embarressing how opposition players can just jog to the edge of our area without any meaningful attempt to dispossess them. That's why I would prefer Sylla to sit deeper.

Delph will be back next game .

I hope not.

I thought he looked pretty good in his last few games. There had been a vast improvement in his performances of late....in my opinion.
Have to agree. I think Westwood and Bannan are simply too similar and it is too costly to have two players in your midfield who are lightweight and don't protect the back four. Delph gets stuck in and makes his presence felt even if he is rash at times.

For reasons I won't go into the lad and I had to leave after 9 minutes.
We heard the QPR goal and then as we legged it back to the car all we could hear was the Villa crowd.
Wanted so much to see that win; gotta keep this up!
See you all against the 'Pool.
