Going off on a bit of a tangent here.

It used to be that opposing teams couldn't wear the same colour shorts or socks.
I've noticed that this doesn't always happen these days. For instance Swansea wore all white at our place.

Does anyone know why?

Does anyone agree with me that if we wear white shorts (as tradional kit is) / or blue shorts we should have claret socks, with 2 thin blue hoops at the top - a la 60s ? - which is what i grew up with.

"So, it's still all to play for ?"
"Do you wanna bet against us ?"

No.  We were mostly shite in the 60s, we're doing enough to recreate that vibe without playing in horrible claret socks as well.   Always blue socks for me, look the best and associated with our better recent times.

Hate white socks with our normal home strip. But would love them with white shorts and shirts and claret and blue trim which is by far and away my preferred away strip for us and could with the right design look very smart I think. It's the memories it brings back that make it my favourite...

I think we can only wear light blue socks.
Our distinctive trademark  is: claret shirt with light blue sleeves, white shorts and light blue socks. I am a traditional and I can't accept nothing different. even if I liked the last season's kit.
White socks are so West Ham. And claret socks are definitely Burnley.
On the contrary we, light blue socks, are Villa.
And Villa are, ooze, class. Light blue socks are class.

I first saw us wear white socks in 1965/66, though we vary between these and the sky blue and all claret. Claret's my favourite, I think. Like others I'd love to see the all-white with claret trim for away games.

Black socks are just wrong.
White ones are 1986-87.
Enough said.

Black socks get my vote. White ones are definitely a no-no.
