You can't fault the effort.

Doing well in this league is all about making the most of every little break. Weimann missing an open goal and Bowery being out of his depth and Vlaar ruining a great free kick position are examples of why we are in the relegation zone.

Close Vlaar. Decent effort. Westwood takes a decent corner.

Then gives a shit ball away.

Bowery looks like he's wandered on to pitch from out of the crowd.

And West Ham are woeful.

That would have been novel...scoring from a corner...us...scoring...from a corner!

Maybe he's trying harder and playing better in training. Perhaps he offers more to the team.

That's crazy talk.

I respect Drummond's optimism and enthusiasm but at the end of the day it is still Darren Bent vs Jordan Bowery.

That attitude has been England's problem for years; pick the 'star' player who fails time after time over a player that offers more to the team.

It's not optimism in this case, just common sense.

When you have the choice international manager's have then just picking the same players doesn't make sense. We're Aston Villa in a relegation scrap with one of the PL best ever forward on the bench. Even it kills you, you try everything you can, and especially with Gabby out to find a way to accommodate him

Bowery playing the Heskey role to perfection.

Not holding the ball and unselfishly bringing others into play, rather letting the ball bounce off him and generally just looking shite.

What a find, and for a fracton of the cost of Ivanhoe.

Weimann though works hard, if not scoring is not that good a footballer all round yet, so needs to take his chances. Gabby will hold a ball and run defenders, which Andi tries, but he is a striker and needs to score the chances like that to be more than just a Paul Dickov!

Where's Gabby?  Is he injured?

And why was the Millwall cup game played on a Friday? Read the first two pages.

Give him a break, who reads the first 2 pages of a match thread half way through!?

Me. I do not like to highlight my naivete. Apparently, I am in the minority. Prefer that to the moronity.
