We have to win either Norwich or Sunderland, two draws won't be enough imo as Sunderland and Norwich will remain above us and you have to assume Wigan will win a game aswell.

Two draws and we'd probably have to win at Wigan on the final day to get to 39 and have a chance, wouldn't fancy us at all if that was the scenario unless Wigan were safe then.

Newcastle getting dragged back into it. Two points ahead of us and a very difficult fixture list for them. We need two wins against two of Norwich, Sunderland and Wigan. United and Chelsea are bonus games that with the grace of God we could pull a point out of.

I'm not too scared. We're a better team than Norwich and Sunderland.

Agreed. Assuming nowt vs Man Yoo and Chelsea then 4 points is minimum...I get the feeling that Wigan will need to beat us last game to stay up...

Just looking now, if Chelsea progress to the Europa League final, they will play it on the 15th, just 3 days after playing us. They would most probably play a weakened side

if only things worked like that. Before they kicked 8 shits out of us, they played the World Club Championships in Japan and came home and battered Leeds in the FA Cup. They were supposed to be tired.

I think they'll put top 4 before the Europa Cup final to be honest

If they win today they won't be playing us on the 11th or 12th anyway as they will be in the fa cup final.

Would they play us midweek before the cup final then if they win today?

That said, they'll probably put a full strength out against us and think they can beat Wigan in the final with a mish mash of a team.

I'd have thought Benitez, who isn't going to be there next season, would be more likely to want a trophy.

Newcastle doing us no favours then. Thanks a lot Fabian, you useless fuck

Not useless, unlucky. Delph has been our best player in 2013.

very much agree. He scored an own goal. Not like he was trying to do that. The rest of his game has come on leaps and bounds this season.

There is no getting away from the fact that we are going to need a minimum of six points from five games.
