That first leg against Tranmere was one of the best atmospheres I've ever been in at Villa Park, up in the old Trinity Road, what a fucking racket.

I can't think of many goals I've celebrated as much as that Atkinson header.

Personally I enjoyed the second leg at Villa Park.  :P

My mom passed away from cancer on Jan 23rd 94 she was Villa mad bless her and said we're going to Wembley this year Son after we beat Spurs. I remember crying my eyes out in the Witton upper with my sister when we finally made it, talk about an emotional roller coaster and the atmosphere was the best I've ever known! Needless to say the tears were flowing again when Rico lifted the cup!
19 years on and we're in the same boat, let's do it again, I'm sure the Holte Ender in the sky will be watching!

UTV!!!

I can't get in the mood for this, don't know why, There are some reasons outside of the Villa, but they are not helping with their current trajectory.

I hope tomorrow restores my faith

What a miserable night that was at Tranmere. A much better than team than we had today taken apart by Tranmere, who themselves had some very decent players. There are definitely similarities, and I know, hand on heart we can do this tomorrow. We need to be clinical and get the score level on aggregate as early as possible. We nearly blew it vs Tranmere, and against Blackburn a number of years later. Both ended being incredible games for different reasons. I don't need the heart racing like crazy tomorrow. Can I not just get a simple 5-0 battering?

It was pretty horrible, but when it comes to league cup semi final misery, I don't think anything will ever top Oxford away, 1986.

Dutch football looks awesome.

The fans always seem to look like British fans pre 1990, the grounds all look good, the quality is decent, and the atmosphere seems quality whenever I see Dutch football.

I also thought Ajax at our place the other year were the most impressive visiting fans I've seen for ages.

They absolutely never fucking shut up. It was actually annoying towards the end, they went on so long.

Great to see the old Holte and Trinity looking so well.

There was a brief period (between the completion of the new Witton and the demolition of the Holte) that the stadium looked at it's best, IMO.

Remember them turning the time off from the bottom of the scoreboard, so we didn't know how long was left. That Atkinson header will be one of the images that flashes before me when I die.

That day has a huge personal resonance, & the atmosphere there that day capped it all.

Inter Milan & possibly Arsenal (the parachute game) come close.

Happy memories. Look how smug the tranmere bench and penalty taker looked before Bozzie stepped in.  What a keeper he was, and what a team that was. Happy days.
