I read today something about Dunne going to New York Red Bulls next month?!?!

I can imagine the first phone call from his agent informing him of it. He probably said, "yes please, with fries and a large coke"

@MatKendrick: Agbonlahor, Bent and N'Zogbia could return to training today, but too early to know if they will be fit to face Ipswich tomorrow #avfc

Surely there's no chance of Bent being ready.

What about Vlaar? I mean he's missed 7 matches with a 'calf strain', how long does it take? we badly need him back.

@MatKendrick: Ron Vlaar and Nathan Baker still struggling, as is Ashley Westwood #avfc

Bloody hell, I understand Westwood and Baker struggling as their injuries are recent but the Vlaar thing is very odd.

@MatKendrick: For those asking for a timeframe on @RonVlaar4 injury lay-off, there has not been one given #avfc

This Vlaar injury is a worry.  I mean, how injured can a calf muscle really be?  It's either a torn muscle, which would mean no more than 4 weeks with the treatment footballers get.  Worse would be damage to the the tendon that attaches it to the bone which takes longer but this long?

Vlaar tweeted a few weeks ago he expected be back for the Liverpool game , so it doesn't seem to be improving much.

As for Baker, have you ever known such an injury prone player at his age?  On the AVFC site yesterday he says he could have played rugby.  I'm sure he could, he would only have lasted one tackle where by the result of which would be the same as what happens to a toughened glass windscreen when a stone hits it.

I reckon Vlaar is dead but they don't want to tell us.

Baker's made of glass, which I think may seriously affect his chances of ever making it here.

So none of this makes any sense. What's happened since then?

He got hit by a windmill when visiting family.

It seems our 'strained/muscle' injuries appear to take forever to heal. Other players from rival clubs seem to be back far quicker. The Vlaar injury is a mystery. I think he's been out for at least six weeks now, which for a calf strain seems a very long time.
