Is anyone else slightly concerned about the fact that we seem to do everything through Benteke? Don't get me wrong I love the big man but I'm more than concerned that he is our plan A,B and C!

I thought we played some decent stuff in the 1st half, but after half time reverted to hoofing the ball in the general direction of Benteke.  The bloke sat behind me in the North Stand reacted to some of our moves early in the game where we kept possession well by shouting "too much passing" and then spent the whole of the 2nd half moaning about "too many long balls"!!

Nah, the first half and the previous games against Man Utd and Arse showed me that we're more than a MON team, we reverted to hoofing in the second half mainly due to nerves and frustration over the amount of misplaced passes when we tried to play through the middle I reckon.

OK we had to adopt a straight forward approach to win the game however we are more than that and the team will prove so in the second half of the season.

It does get a bit repetitive with Guzan hitting Benteke every kick! We play a nice passing game at times when we get the ball down but I wish we would mix it up a bit.

It does look as if the main tactic now is to hit Benteke and for Weimann, Holman, Gabby to pick up the knock ons.  It's not really the passing, possession based approach I expected and which Lambert seemed to be trying to introduce at first, but then maybe that's down to limited resources and practicalities.  One does wonder what will happen if Benteke is crocked or suspended.  I suspect the answer could be Bowery.

First half was nice and varied; second became predictable ... but it worked in the end!

Meaning what? He's really Welsh? He's a boozer? He flatters to deceive? He's tall?

Give us a clue!
