The dressing room door isn't safe
« on: October 25, 2012, 06:57:39 PM »
From Pravda

Quote
Andreas Weimann insists the players will be "banging the dressing room door down" to get out there on Saturday against Norwich.

Weimann says there's a real deep determination among the claret and blue troops to turn things around - and quickly.

He said: "The players can't wait for the game. We are really relishing it because when you lose you can't wait for the next match.

"I think we'll be banging the dressing room door down to get out there on Saturday.

"It can't come quick enough for us. We're really looking forward to it.

"It's a big game for us. We're determined to turn things around. I have no doubts we will either!

"The spirit in the squad is brilliant. We are a young squad and we're all really good, close mates off the pitch too.

"We all work hard together and want to do well for Villa together. Obviously we haven't picked up that many points yet but I think the performances haven't been bad.

"There's only been one game and that was against Everton where we didn't perform.

"Apart from that it's been good. The gaffer told us before the open training session that we will win soon and it will start from there. Hopefully it will be Norwich on Saturday.

"The fans will be vital in that one too. When you walk out of that tunnel and you see that sea of claret and blue and you hear the noise, it's an incredible feeling. It gives you an extra lift, no doubt at all.

"The fans have been amazing this season. Hopefully we can give them something to shout and scream about."

Weimann is hoping to be a part of the team to face the Canaries - and he thinks with Paul Lambert in charge that that is a definite possibility.

He added: "The manager has no favourites in the squad. Everyone can see that on the outside and he told that to all the lads after the first game at West Ham.

"He said he doesn't care about names or anything like that. If you play well in the team you'll stay in. If you perform brilliantly in training, you'll get in the side.

"That's a real fair system. There's incentive there for every member of the squad. It's healthy competition. Everyone feels that.

"You have to give your best every single training session. That can only be good for the manager, the team and the fans.

"You might miss out on the Saturday but there's no time to be down because you know it's a fresh start again on Monday.

"He can change the team any given week and you have to make sure that if he does, you're the man he picks."

You forgot about Southampton, Andreas.

Good words from Andi, he sounds up for it. I do hope the Daily Mirror don't object to another one of our youngsters speaking out.

This. He hasn't done anything wrong when given the chance this season.

He really impressed me last season and I thought he was unlucky not to have started a few more games this season. I hope he gets a chance. I really think he could be an important player for us by the end of this season.
