For me RDM has achieved more than PL. Let's not get too silly about this. In no small measure to him, Chelsea won the FA cup and CL last season. Some might question just how much was down to him, but he did unite a squad that was tearing itself apart. To have sacked him so soon was ridiculous, after a short poor run. Rafa's come in and things have been even worse.

I would rather have RDM in charge here given the choice, but at the same time, I don't think he's got enough in his locker to turn us around within our budget either. As a manager who could persuade better players here, DM has more draw as well. He's well regarded on these shores and in Europe. At least more so than PL.

Maybe randy would have more trust in rdm to spend a bit more  do you think supertom, if he  could attract a better quality of player?
I'm not sure Randy would ever consider things like that. If we had Mourinho here perhaps he'd have enough nous to consider forking over an extra few mill to spend.
RDM still needs to prove he can work on a budget though. I don't think we'll sack another manager though. We can't afford it.
I just hope Lambert pulls off a few decent signings. Quality and some experience is sorely needed.

Moussa Sissoko would be ideal I reckon. Just the sort of player we need.
I wanted us to sign him when Houllier came in.

Is that the same guy who had a spell at Liverpool maz?
No, I cleared that up a few posts above

Apologies glasses,  there must be as Paul said loads of players available who would Improve our weak team  but we are dropping points while waiting around .

Not excited in the slightest dave, the prospect of di matteo if it happened would hardly be the greatest thing , but the main thing is that we stay in this division and as regards the afore mentioned twitter poster , he is no longer on my following list .
I'm not suggesting that you're excited by the prospect of Di Matteo, I'm suggesting that you're excited by yet another Twitter rumour, which leads you to posting in some sort of ridiculous code like you're a ten year old passing notes at the back of a classroom.

Got to agree if i'm honest, it was a bit silly and unneccessary.

What a surprise , clampy criticising me again - does that go for all of us or just me clampy ?

Who said i was just criticising just you? I did'nt bring your name up, i was just adding my thought's to what Dave said. You're just getting a bit paranoid.

Since Sissoko is available we should be in for him at that price, it's not even a gamble.

The main thing we need is leadership. 2 players, one a central defender, the other defensive midfielder who are bulldogs and will not stiffen the spine of the team. Mellberg in defense. A new Petrov.

Bennett looks out of his depth at the moment as well - I cant bring myself to say Warnock back but there must be a loan to cover option.

An apparent ITK on VT (yes I know.....) has stated that the two key targets (CH and Def MF) of Lambert are too expensive for the Board. They were relying on moving some of the remaining high earners on and there are no takers....
Lambert won't resign but make speak out over the fact that he isn't getting financially backed. Nothing to do with the teams performance but the need to get costs further reduced...

Bennett's confidence looked shot on Tuesday. If there's other options available, i'd leave him out on Saturday, it might be for the best. It's a shame because up until he got sent off against Norwich, he was doing ok.

I think Bennett could still be a decent player but agree his confidence seems shot right now , maybe Stevens or lichaj on Saturday would be an option.

For me, two players in with experience and quality will see us stay up. A Centre half and a Centre midfielder. We create enough going forward to score goals, we just need to make sure we stop conceding them. If it costs £15m to get them themn so be it. It will cost much more if we go down.

Lescott and Sissoko please.

£15m is loose change considering what we could lose by relegation  , I'm sure  Lerner knows he needs to spend decent money or risk relegation .

I'm not sure that he's convinced lambert is the man to spend it though

Well that better not be true, because the board need to realise if we go down it's going to cost us a lot more. Short sighted and idiotic, we've been cutting costs for so long now. There comes a point that you have to invest or you go under, we're on the brink of that.

Lambert must have alternative targets in case of that very scenario with the board?
Sometimes you can't always have what you want and you have to economise, this is where you find out exactly how efficient your scouting network really is! If necessary get players in on loan till the end of the season but do something POSITIVE!

Ignoring the providence and reliability of the claim; it seems very detailed and completely improvable, but just to examine the point, to what are the board hoping to achieve?

The squad as it is threadbare, cheap on the main and devoid of quality, if you’re already cut to the bone, how can you cut further?

It suggests something has changed financially since Lambert took over and I cannot imagine what has.

I think the “ITK” is bollocks.
