I can listen to Pat Murphy as long as it dosent involve him talking about the Villa or West Brom. Always been an Albion fan and his bias against the Villa has certainly increased since the press shut out at Villa Park, I think he had quite good contacts during the Ellis era.  Heard him say during an interview once that it had always been a personal regret of his that Ipswich hadnt won the league in 1981 when they had deserved to because Bobby Robson was such a nice man. He didnt mention who had won it. He enjoys having a dig at the Villa, he should be above that in his profession.

He actually supports Chelsea.

Thats really surprised me.  Perhaps its the way he dislikes the Villa that makes him sound like a West Brom fan then !

He hoped lambert would stay at Norwich , but thinks villa have got a good man- I remenber lambert lost it a couple of times at Norwich with the press - he looked daggers at one reporter who dared question him.

Pat Murphy is a good journalist overall, but I don't think he knows the 'inside track' at Villa Park.

Agree, I think he's an excellent journalist who largely tells it as is rather than blowing smoke up anyone's ass...he does however as a member of the broadcast press appear to have a downer on Randy because he dosent give interviews.

He went up in my estimation when he had a row with Robbie Savage last week on R5, don't know if anyone heard it? He told Savage more or less to shut up as he always talks over other people and then when Savage spouted some inaccurate facts about Darren Bent, he was very sarcastic indeed about Savage's research skills. It was getting very tasty and Savage backed down very quickly

I just hope whoever we sign brings a quality and experienced spine to the side. As I've said a few times the minimum we need is a centre half, centre mid and a creative player. I think we also need a left back and possibly another centre mid as well. It's really important that they are quality and can bed in straight away as well.

It could probably still happen but I seem to remember when Lescott left Everton it all turned out very bitter between the parties involved. I'm sure Moyes even said his attitude was atrocious in the lead up to his transfer and even his teammates were not happy - many of whom are still at Everton. Maybe all is forgiven now though?
