Saying "ok boomer" negates any sort of argument anybody may have.

Only in your head.

Which no-one other than you cares about.

Saying "ok boomer" negates any sort of argument anybody may have.

Especially when I'm in my early 30s.

Bob might have a problem with the fact that the police are people just like you and me who just because they happen to wear a uniform are able to control/be violent to the rest of us, more often than not, with impunity.

And he probably thinks that nobody is naïve enough to believe the police control/are violent only to ‘criminals’. Just look at Black Lives Matter in America and the UK, or the recent unlawful actions of the Met Police in London against XR protestors. (These seem like institutional problems rather than ‘one potentially rogue officer’.)

If you are white and/or middle class then your view of the police might be different from if you’re black and/or working class. If the former then Bob might seem like a crank, if the latter then you might think he pretty much hits the nail on the head.

An educated and rational post, Doc.

However, irrespective of skin colour, anyone that spouts "fuck the police" you can be certain of just who they'll call should they find themselves on the shitty-stick end of criminal activity.

I'm not sure what your point is.

I quite often think/say something similar to 'fuck lorries' when I'm on a motorway when they're being driven irresponsibly. If I'm moving house I'll use somebody with a lorry to shift my stuff. I don't think that makes me a hypocrite.

I especially think fuck lorries when they decide it's their civil duty to straddle two lanes in roadworks.

If you want an example of hypocrisy. Driver me - WTF can't those pedestrians be bothered to walk to the nearby pedestrian crossing. Pedestrian me - their cars have breaks, use them, don't expect me to walk out of my way.

Or you could put it another way:

If you're a criminal, your view of the police might be different from someone who is law abiding.
