Kevin Richardson's long range stunner that went in off the underside of the bar vs Oxford in the Cup, Garry Parker's two vs Sheff United, Houghton lobbing the Man City keeper, Richardson lobbing the Sheff United keeper at home after a lovely throughball from Neil Cox, Big Cyrille chipping the Forest keeper. Just great great goals.Yorke's goal against Sheffield Wednesday at home was absolutely fabulous. 16 passes and a great finish, what days they were x

Back then the Beeb had three or four match commentators and no one at the round up matches. Then they would "record" commentary for the Goal of the month / Season entries if required.

Gerald Sinstad ( one for the teenagers ) must have been at every bloody game in the 80s, I can always remember him on videos and highlights programmes. Probably over dubbed in a recording booth near Soho.
Two police under criminal investigation.

These days the match of the day minor match highlights have the commentators who seem to have positively psychic powers "X is in the box, looks like he wants to try an overhead backheel volley off the post into the net, cross comes in ... and it's an overhead backheel volley off the post into the net!".
Not that it matters a fig but I hadnt realised before that we got a bit lucky for both of the free-kicks that led to Dalian's decisive goals. Not sure Townsend was fouled by Irons and then at VP Tranmere weren't alert to the quick free. Also, anyone know what Ron mouths after Dalian's goal at Wembley? Think the last word is "...boy". My boy? Atkinson Jr and Sr.
