My Port Vale supporting friend says that the Beech is a good pub. If you're coming straight from the train station, carry on just past the ground and it's on the left.

It's okay, but as the closest one to the ground it will be the one that is:

"Great pub, packed full of Villa!"

So I personally would avoid it like the plague and visit some of the many, many fine establishments in the Town.

Use your rear-view mirror and try not to clip the kerb.

If you are coming off A38 at Clay Mills then when you get near to the ground (with Pirelli on your right) opposite are some industrial units which you can pay to park on match days. If you want to save a fiver take the first exit on the roundabout and go over the bridge on the left is a newish housing estate where you can park on the road for free but anywhere else be careful you don't risk a ticket - they're sods round there and hunt in packs, a large away contingent will be like an all you can eat buffet for Traffic Wardens.

Anyone who doesn't mind going in the Burton standing sections, you can pay cash at the turnstiles on the day. I'd imagine there'll be plenty who do that, myself included. Popular Side (North Stand) is probably the best bet.

Just got off the phone to my mate from work, who's sister runs the hospitality side of things at Burton. You can pay at the gate in the Burton sections. They're putting that about to put large numbers of Villa turning up without tickets.

Sorry Lenny, can you clarify this - it isn't clear. You CAN pay cash on the turnstiles, yes? There seems to be a word missing in your last sentence.

Yes, pay cash at the gate. I also rang Burton myself a couple of weeks ago, and the bloke on the phone also said pay cash on the day.

The Great Westen pub or the club at the ground is where I'll be heading - excellent reports of both!
