Best Villa have played this season I think. The key is off the ball: we haven't stood off, we've pressed them, not stopped pressing as the half has gone on and kept working the ball short. There are still frustrations, still unnecessary hoofing, but Heskey is playing well enough in the role he should be playing (here's the clue: it's not the Beckenbauer role) that we're getting enough of the ball to play our football. This is much better.

Oopht, that was close though.

Gary Cahill had 'a spell with Aston Villa earlier in his career'...did he not come through our youth system?

High fiving in the office with the red card for Terry, hope we're doing it for a Villa goal soon.

Oh dear Emile.

All the best and the worst  of him this half. Still, without him we wouldn't have created the chances for him to miss, so on balance he's been good.

Really good performance this, albeit against a really shit Bolton side. Definitely giving it a decent go.

Also worth pointing out that if you play Heskey as a centre-forward, he's not too shabby.
