i dont know where to go with this, we are showing our support for OUR skipper! i personally dont feel that every club has to do so also. i wish i could come up with a valid argument as to why every fan in the land has to clap for the next however long, but i suppose they were not chanting abuse. some of their arguments for not doing so are appalling but what can you do??

There was a discussion about this on WM this morning. A legitimate conversation about the validity of continuing the applause, not just ours but Bolton as well. Most callers were fairly measured, as was the host, Sandwell fan Adrian Goldberg.

That was until a 'Nose rang up claiming that the reason Villa fans applaud is because they have forgotten how to do it, given the poor football witnessed this season. He was laughing long and loud and the host joined in.

Well the only quibble I have with them is the language they couch their objections in. The point is valid, the sentiment is vile. And then they call us Scouse wannabes and grief-mongering. Well, the Villa fans who criticised them for not clapping are overly sensitive and incorrect to do so, but the disproportionate, braindead and moronically hateful responses deserve the strongest possible criticism.
