West Ham are hardly throwing money around, it is a one year loan deal for Carroll with no obligation to buy.

The way they'll play, Allardyce will have them lumping the ball into the air at his general direction for 90 minutes every game. I can't think of anything less appealling to watch than that.

QPR are setting themselves up to be the next Portsmouth, reckless spending which will end in disaster.

Bolton fans I spoke to last season said their decline coincided with him missing from the side.  Not sure if he's still injured though.

Would love to see what Hughes's remit is for this season.He must have promised more than survival which could well mean he will be the first sacking of the season.

Carroll plus London = fun and games,especially when he is on loan. As for experience, we had bucketsfull, Collins, Hutton, Warlock, Heskey, etc etc, all on huge wages, we need quality experienced or not.

Re. Carroll and Benayoun, we wouldn't have had much of a chance. West Ham are a more attract proposition than us at the moment, even though they've been newly promoted... London being the main factor.

I'm a bit suprised by he Carroll thing, I genuinely thought he was going to be the big suprise signing, not that I was overly keen.  Maybe the Benteke thing is a definite.

I've been pretty confident we'd be pulling something off to suprise a few, but am beginning to wonder now..............

If tomorrow brings the 2 lads from the lower leagues, Benteke and a defensive midfielder we will be fine until January, not comfortable, but we will be ok.
