I still think there will be one signing this summer where you think "Crikey, thats a big move".

Well, moving Dunne on would be a major logistical exercise.

Yeh I agree. I don't think every deal will be from the lower leagues or in the £2 or £3m range. I can see one big deal. I imagine that our net spend will be in the £25-£30m range.

L'Equipe are reporting that we are in for Gourcuff. Now he isn't the same player he was 4/5 years ago but that boy is still a major talent.

Would be superb. He's still very young too, 25 or 26 I think.

Re Ibrahimovic, no thanks, no way he would cut it in the prem, too hurly burly,  Such a precious flower for one so big and an ego the size of Russia!

sorry, but that's nonsense. He's been brilliant throughout his career in some of the most difficult leagues in the world particularly Italy where they're not exactly soft defensively. He also has the height and a physique that would make him perfect for the English game.

I rate him. I was saying just last night to someone that he is the rare kind of player who has both a strong physique and is skillful and has good feet. A bit like Drogba in that he is a good, skillful footballer and not merely a target man. He would take to the EPL like a duck to water in my view.

Definitely would be superb. Lad is a talent. Lost his way a little, but he's quality.

I can't find a reference to this, but a link with Gouffran of Bordeaux is on L'equipe site

Now that would be a great, bums on seats signing.  Would happily jizz my pants for a signing like this.

Just back from Weymouth and a self imposed media blackout. Can I get a recap please? Just a quick skim read tells tales of Ibrahimovic, Gourcuff and so on. Any solid links or just fantasy talk?

We would never have a chance of signing him, but you are mad if you wouldn't want him at Villa.

Tell that to Terry after Ibra bowled him over yesterday

You ain't missed much. Duncan wouldn't want Ibrahimovic at Villa and thinks he would be shit in the PL because apparently he's a pansy despite being 6'5, around 14 stone. Oh and despite having a stellar playing career. There's some confusion as to whether we are linked with Gourcuff or Gouffran. No difference there!

Gourcuff is at Lyon now if that helps.
