As for Makoun, what the hell was the chairman doing sanctioning a deal in the first place if the player wasn't suitable? They constantly whinge about all the spending but still allowed it all?

Indeed, damn him for sanctioning the signing of an experienced international midfielder who had played more games in the champions league than the rest of the squad put together, terrible transfer policy...

That may get his work permit refused because he can't speak a word of English. Fast forward over a year and he still can't speak English. Yep it's fucking diabolical policy by the club, he was the one who took a step down to join us so the club should've pulled out all stops. You think it's perfectly ok for a club to bring a player to the club who can't speak the native tongue? If they knew he was coming back then they should've planned for it........Im sure Houllier signed him on the strength of a wonder goal against Real? FFS.......

I don't know a lot about either player to be honest what I do know is that Bent will get a quarter of the goals that he normally gets because he has absolutely no supply at all. That needs rectifying before anything else I feel? If we can score goals then at least we have a chance in games. Without that we'll end up very similar to last season In my opinion.

Means nothing...... I think we're starting to see the potential of Belgium now with some of their players coming thorugh. I bet a lot of people hadn't heard of Michu from Swansea but I doubt he will be at Swansea come the end of the season. How they were allowed to easily sign a midfielder who got near 20 goals last season for 4m euros is just wrong.

I thought that in the summer the idea was to bring in good-value unknowns who we could develop.
