If anyone who has been stating we do not need another striker. Well it could not of been any clearer today that we certainly do. I seriously think we should try and off load Nzogbia and bring in a fresh player who is hopefully on Lamberts radar. We are lacking goal scorers. Before todays game i have thought we will struggle to score enough goals to win games. I hope Lambert has also realised my fears ..........
I agree. Surely Delfouneso has had enough chances now. He's not going to make the grade in the PL. N'Zogbia showed lots of skill today, but, as last season, he was beating two or three players and then just running into the fourth. We need someone like Robbie Keane who can support Bent but also score goals of his own.

Berbatov please. The asking price is £5mil and he's a good footballer. Don't know if I can stomach N'Zogbia anymore, and I've been one of his biggest/most patient supporters. He's too inefficient and can't take over a game like he did at Wigan. He's wasteful and incapable of contributing in a passing offense.

Annan and The Governor in midfield would be fantastic.

Ince is getting on a bit these days. His son is meant to be good though.

I'm going go back track on what I said a few weeks ago. I originally said i'd give N'zogbia until Christmas to sort it out. After yesterday I'd definately get rid. Again, Ireland didn't do enough for me. He sprayed some nice passes, but if we're going to play with Bannan and Karim, We need another engine room player that can also offer a touch of creativity - yeah I know not much to ask.

I'd also like to see Berbatov and Bent. A striker has to be a priority. Two if I'm being greedy.

Also I noticed with Ireland at full time he trudged off, he didn't seem to want to shake anyones hand nor did he clap or approach any of the villa fans

Berbatov would be the perfect fit for me, good touch and link play as well as a natural finisher, it would take big wages but he could make a real difference to our team- worth the money in my opinion.

As for nzogbia, i really struggle to see where he will fit in unless he makes a huge improvement in his game, seems another sasa curcic to me, good player but just not delivering in a villa shirt.

I'd move heaven and earth to get Robbie Keane back here.

I know he's a good player and all, but £5m plus at least £3m a year in wages on a player the wrong side of 30, who's effort and application were questionable at his peak, and who will be taking a big step down, is fucking stupid.

And it wont happen.

ok my dad brother and all my dads side of the family support man u, they worship berbatov. everytime i go to old trafford you hear moans hes not started. also the majority of united fans i know say cantona was a lazy shite as well so the lazy tag just doesn't really cut it.

wrong side of 30 you have a point but so is xavi, iniesta, puyol, raul, robbie keane, roberto carlos, drogba, ashley cole, rio ferdinand, beckham, giggs, scholes.... etc. etc. every player on that list would be welcomed with open arms but not berbatov? season before last he joint topped the premier league scoring charts despite playing over 10 games less than tevez a player who is only frozen out at united because fergie gets a woody by persisting  with youth players who are overrated like wellbeck, macheda, fletcher, whilst selling or freezing out better players. berbatov, rossi, in the past beckham, nani, ruud, japp stam, veron, just off the top of my head have all recived the berbatov treatment they arent bad players just fergies nuts.

i'd be happy berbatov 2 year deal 3 million a year or 3 year deal at 2.5 million a year he would also have a serious impact on some of our youth players. not even the current crop but down the line like burke or "john smith & joe bloggs of the future"

Mate, no offense but that paragraph ticks just about every cliche fans, and many managers fall for when evaluating signing a player like this.

I'd say that with our current management team this type of signing is as far away as it's ever been.

Its entirely possible that he was pissed off with his/the team,s performance that he just wanted to get off the pitch. It happens.

Iniesta is 28 mate, just coz he is a slap head doesnt make him old 8)

I am also a big Berba fan though. I doubt we could afford his wages, sadly.

I've not been a fan of N'Zog and I feel that Nathan has had enough chances to prove his abilities. My recommendation would be to offload both now and bring in one new striker to infill. No idea who, but I might take a punt at Rhodes.
Regarding midfield I'd go with three sitting MF - KEA, BB and Herd - with two ahead of them (Holman and Ireland) and one striker.
I'd look to change it during a game to 2 up top or 1 plus a wide player if we were not scoring the goals we need.

I think we need a midfielder that's capable of sitting and pressing. I.e Makoun! A three of Bannan,KEA and Makoun, with holman behind 2 strikers could work.

Though we need to get the left back and position sorted.  With playing a narrow three puts a lot of emphasis on the full backs to cover the flanks.

The more I think of it, the idea of Berbatov linking with KEA,Bannan and Makoun would be ideal.
