Seeing as anish players do tend to hit the ground running in the English game - as do the Scandinavians in general, i'd go for Kjaer at centre-half if he was available.

If Mutch was any good then teams in the Prem would have been sniffing around. Watched both the play off games against Blackpool and he didn't stand out. Kept giving the ball away. In fact the only thing that stood out to me was that he was wearing gloves in May!

Yes and they have cover with Kaboul. Although I wouldn't mind Kaboul if spurs would sell

He's their first choice centre back now, isn't he?

Nursey has tweeted that Naughton will not be signing for Villa. We are after a different RB.

Edited due to my iPad's playground humour. Thanks for pointing that out Percy.

Yeah but Infants has said on facebook that it's a done deal. I'm waiting for Juniors to confirm though.

Didn't Nursey start the rumour? Or atleast give it credence.

He said talks were taking place. I guess something changed and we're looking elsewhere. Chris Gunter was supposedly spotted at VP on Tuesday.

I wonder if Spurs are asking for too much money for Naughton and Villa feel that, whilst he's a decent player, why pay more when there are others out there for better value?  I honestly thought that this one would be nailed on.

Well if Naughton is a no, I hope we go and get Clyne.

It could be that Spurs are taking the piss with their comedy player values again. Or we have a better target in mind.

Or they are not willing to sell at the moment.

Not seen much of Gunter, recall he was at Spurs too? Another highly rated as a kid but then seemed to take a step back?

As a follower of Welsh football, I've never been too sure about Gunter.  Went from Cardiff to Spurs at a young age for a quite a hefty fee, but never really broke through there.  Was part of a struggling Forest team last season, though he has performed pretty well for Wales over the last year or so, including a good game against England at Wembley.  From what I have seen of them both I would much prefer Naughton, but agree that we shouldn't be paying silly money for him.

And if that's the case I truly hope we told them do one.  We can't keep helping Spurs finance dutch midfield maestros and developing their young talent for them.

Spurs owe us one after selling us a lemon in the form of Hutton
