Agreed. Are these tweets from anything or anybody credible?

I don't know why people seem so frequently incapable of "getting" twitter.

Twitter is the medium. It is who is saying it that matters.

"Twitter is bollocks", for example, is one thing if it's a load of bedroom-bound keyboard warriors like someone once known in these parts tweeting nonsense every ten seconds, but if it's Mat Kendrick, for example, it is a totally different thing.

So many people don't seem to be able to understand this.

Who is this post aimed at?

Nobody.

You asked the important question - who is tweeting this stuff, which is the key bit people miss when talking about Twitter rumours.

I need no explanation on how Twitter works. I asked who was tweeting this info, which is a perfectly fair enough question.

I think Randy would stump up the fee for Johnson, but I'm less sure in the wages, so some agreement would need to be reached, probably with him getting a pay off from Man City.

Naughton was a real ring of truth about it!

I think that's what Paulie is getting at. Most people don't ask that question.

Kyle Naughton-great player.

Great? Really? The word great needs to be reserved for great players. Otherwise, how would you describe them? Now, he might be a great signing relative to Alan Hutton, but so would a cone or chair if it was replacing our incumbent right back.

Oh, I see. Sorry Paulie, got the message mixed up there then.

Anyway, Naughton and Johnson are the type of players I would expect us to go for and would both do quite well here.
Not great but potentially very good.

Fair comment. Good player may describe him better.

I heard a rumor that Johnson likes the marching powder and got caught and that's the reason he dropped out of the city team, probably Bollocks but there you go

There are a lot of the better hit rate "ITK" posters on twitter talking about Johnson, and a Naughton is being talked about from various sources, but then discussed on twitter. I agree Paulie, it is about who is saying it, but it is always and interesting watch on how the ebb and flow of a rumour goes on a medium like twitter.

Adam Johnson would be an excellent signing.  I personally think he is as good, if not better than the two left wingers in the current England squad and just needs the opportunity of regular football to prove it.  Can't see it happening though.

This is true of anything though, not just Twitter. I find any bit of ITK interesting but it's only the one's that have proven themselves in the past that I really give any credibility to.

I agree that Naughton and Johnson would both be excellent signings. With Johnson, it would be interesting to see how we would use him i.e. which side he would be mainly used on or whether he would switch.

If we sign Naughton and Johnson I'll be one happy Villa fan.

Mark Hughes linked to a bid for Stephen Ireland

 http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/hughes-ponders5-move61-for-aston-villa-man/?

That's two of the three former Man City players we have they've been linked with, maybe next week it'll be Richard Dunne's turn..?
