However, Tim Abraham on Twitter reckons it's a move to force Genk to realise Benteke isn't the only option we have. Clever, if so.

I can't see Dempsey coming here. I don't think we'd pay enough to tempt him over here. I'd love us to sign him because he'll score goals, make goals and he always puts in a shift. He's exactly the sort of reliable player we need. The problem is, right now, he may not see it as a step up to join us from Fulham. Lets face it, they look in better knick than us right now. We're a big, big club, but there's only so far that we can trade off our history.
He's waiting for Liverpool. If he has to wait till January, then I think he will.

It seems we're firing out bids left and right hoping that a couple will come to fruition. If we don't sign anyone today, then it'll be very disappointing.

According to the 'yellow ticker' on SSN lambert isnt aware of the deal. Perhaps its a fulham 'leak' to try and get interest from other clubs so they can get rid of him before the deadline

Can't see it happening but would love Dempsey at VP, would give us the forward I think we need to compliment Bent. Still reckon the Scousers will get him though now that Carroll has gone.

Dempsey is finished at Fulham. He's pissed Jol off too much. Jol wants him out and Dempsey wants out. If we're the only destination, he'll come. He'd prefer Liverpool, obviously, but he might not get the choice.

So what makes you think he will get champs league footy at lfc or sunderland (the other interested clubs)??  Theres a chance he could sign for us but ive maintained that he will be an lfc player come the end of the window.
