Collymore talking sense.

Randy Lerner and Paul Faulkner really need to wake up and give some direction to the club.

Sadly, I think McLeish will see out his contract leaving us with bad divisions among the club. It's a shame too, I thought the VFU  bloke did well.

Collymore does talk some sense but he falls into the same trap as everyone else when asking for a 4 or 5 year plan.
All we want to see is management and ownership we can relate to and players trying on the pitch to win games, if they aren't good enough I think we'll all accept it but the whole club from top to bottom including all the players are under-performing and not looking as though they really give a shit.
Unless Lerner sells this Summer there will be a mass exodus of season ticket holders next season and we are in for a whole world of pain in the next few.

Stan spoke well until he said Alex Mcleish is a good manager! Why is he a good manager at this level?

He wasn't as bad is i thought he was going to be. I'm suprised that Durham ain't giving us a kicking but typical Gough, he aint got a clue.

Durham dosen't seem to mind us.

The clubs he loves giving a kicking are Arsenal, Stoke, West Ham, Leeds and sometimes Spurs.

Gough is right though about the club being "small time" if Faulkner was willing to meet with a 'group' that consists of 532 friends on Facebook and 55 signed up members to their site.

agreed, the villa is not "his club" with only 3 players he brought in of his own choice. he was given a ready made squad which granted was better than any other team his managed (he admitted this himself) but they dont play to his strengths) mcleish has won trophies when given time

Our current squad cost in excess of £100 million, any other manager worth his salt would have seen us comfortably ahead of Norwich, Stoke etc even if we were not challenging the top 6.

Is it worth in excess of £100 million though? If we put them up for sale now, is that what we'd get for them?
I've just being trying to do something with my hopeless (as usual) fantasy league side and Swansea have the 3rd best goalie in the division (measured in clean sheets), and both Swansea and Norwich have midfielders and forwards amongst the the top 10 players in the league. Crap as we may have been against Swansea - their players didn't assemble those player points because we're shit - they got there because they're good. Isn't it a bit of a trap to assume that just because they're newly promoted, or they don't have players that Sky talk up, that they're not very good? They have some good up & coming players amongst their lot, whilst we have some seriously over the hill tat amongst ours.

When you're looking at it during a period where we're struggling, we're always likely to downgrade our players value.  And some of these players at Norwich and Swansea will be having what proves to be their best season and get found out next year.

I turned it off as soon as that prick Collymore started talking about 'my beloved Aston Villa'.Can't believe he has been given hero status the way he ponced around the club,  yet Barry gets abuse after over 400 games and 11 years service before leaving for £12m.It is a funny old game.
