Anyway, Gabby won't go. Wellbeck, Rooney, Defoe, Sturridge and Carroll will be first choice ahead of him rightly or wrongly.

It does actually cause us a problem if he is not fit for the Euros, because he has been provisionally selected for the GB olympic side as an overage player. His inclusion was dependent on omission from the England squad.

AM has already said he wouldn't stand in any players way should they wish to participate. Which means we could lose him for pre season I believe.

Are we talking about Bent or Gabby? If the former, then we could use the injury as a reason not to be selected as he would not have played for 4-5 months.
