I might have dreamt it , but didn't we have people dressed as a big box of matches in the early to mid 80's.

Yes, there was some kind of sponsorship involving quiz questions on the boxes. It was quite engaging as I recall, can anyone remember more?

I'm with the Bolton fans here - what the fucking hell is that?

It is actually a boiler, as their main shirt sponsor Ideal make, er, boilers.

I have just dug out my copy of Weir and Wonderful. The box of matches are about 6 foot tall called Winners and there is no poor soul inside them. It's just a static inanimate object placed  either side of the players running onto the pitch.Funny how your memory fades as you get older !

Small Heath recently released a photo of Monk and a garbage truck to publicise their sponsorship with Biffa waste disposal.

Richie Anderson (definitely!) is doing the phone-in tonight.

For Villa to stand in Jack's way to go to Spurs would be "cruel, evil!"

Apparently.

Joe Bryan would be better going to Middlesbrough because of Pulis’ ability with defenders.  I must’ve missed when Pulis played in Manures PL winning team as one half of one their best ever defensive partnerships.

To be fair you can't knock Pulis when it comes to defenders. He can usually turn nine out of ten outfield players into defenders.

Richie Anderson said that the only time he was star struck was when he met Tony Pulis.

Fret not, Franksy's back now.

Now, some joker from Wolverhampton's been muttering about a 50,000 seater stadium being built to replace the Molineux: is there any truth in this?
