One hurdle cleared.  A clean sheet would have been nice.

Nice easy draw away might be better, three wins and a draw in our last four away games.

Thought Howard Webb did his best to f**k us up again. Blokes an eternal tosser.

Brad Jr: 7 Didn't have much to do, stopped the penalty well.
Hutton: 7 Absolutely fine, one of his better games. Probably due to the level of the opposition
Dunne: 4 Annoys me intensely. Is a 1 good game in 3 today. Complete lack of awareness for their goal
Collins: 6 Hoof hoof hoof. But was fine defensively
Warnock: 4.5 Not very good, apart from a good cross which Albrighton should have converted
Albrighton: 7.5 Great first half, quieter second
Ireland: 7 I'm warming to him
Petrov: 7.5 Good performance
Clark: 7 Great goal, passing was poor in the first half for me
Heskey: 3.5 He tried hard
Bent: 3 Did nothing, but I appreciate if he got a chance he would have scored

Gabby: 7 Great goal
Bannan: 6 Didn't have time to do much
Gardner: 6 Didn't have time to do much either and looked a bit nervous (understandably)

Job well done, just like Villa to try and balls it up towards the end. They were really shit though, but you can only beat who's in front of you and all that.....

Until we scored thought it was going to be an upset. We're through to the next round. Result.

Warnock's deterioration as a footballer is getting worse every minute he plays on the pitch.

Positives - Nice to see Gardner get some action,
                 Gabby getting a goal
                 Clark's finish
                 Ireland when he comes inside
                 Guzans penalty save

Negatives - We struggled to create anything for Bent against a really poor side
Heskey - when he plays, we hoof
Ireland - he looks good when he plays centrally - he's not a wide man
What the fuck was Dunne doing at the end?

We won the game. Didn't play the well, and the pitch certainly didn't help. Playing Heskey makes us play a certain way. I don't dislike Heskey, but I'll be glad to see the back of him and Collins so that we can permanently evolve to hopefully a better style of play. Lovely goals though and that should be commended.

I think we did ok considering.

Bent was our most ineffectual player.

Super Marc did well as did Gabby

Our youngsters are more comfortable on the ball and more imaginative, and also less likely to hoof. And they have better movement. And more enthusiasm and energy. The likes of Collins should be phased out and the likes of Heskey should be slung out.
