Trouble is, Handsworth nose, you *don't* remember when Michael Owen was young and fast and lethal, otherwise you wouldn't be making comparisons like that. Walcott has one decent game a season. Back when you were a sperm, Owen looked like scoring every time he got the ball.

Remember when Michael Owen was young and fast and lethal?

That is Theo Walcott.

Wow, no.

So no.

That was a shock. I though for a moment you meant the Theo Walcott who plays for Arsenal.

If Walcott played up front, you play him in and he would finish it off.

Seriously he is wasted on the wing.

Walcott has never been and will never be anywhere near the player the young Owen was.

I'm sure that Michael Owen had a broken leg in my Subbuteo team. Must have knelt on him. Amazing what a recovery he made.

I had to chuckle at that comparison. In the same breath, I've found myself comparing Alan Shearer to Kevin Francis and playing that "what if" game.

Theo Walcott could play the rest of his career and won't be close to what Michael Owen was in his first few years. He was incredible.

Walcott is a good player. Owen at his best was one of the best strikers in the world.

He is another SWP, does something brilliant every now and a gain but 99 times out of 100, he is poor.
I think that Oxlade Chamberlain will be a much better player.

The only similarity I can see between Owen and Walcott is that they both appear to have all the charisma of a slice of mild cheddar.

Owen is not like cheddar. For a start, people like cheddar.

Which cheese is it that's full of holes? He's more like that one these days.

Which reminds me of the time I bought Stevie Wonder a cheese grater for his birthday. He said it was the most violent book he'd ever read.

Downing is like camembert. It's no good for ages, brilliant for five minutes, then it's off
