Trouble  with getting in their faces from the first whistle is Ferguson will be onto the ref and no doubt we'll get 2-3 players on a yellow card from early on and I don't want that as we say how useless we were against WBA with 10 men.

I'd much rather see us keep the ball well and create chances that way but I'm not that hopeful.

Best bet is to hope Gabby has another stormer against Vidic I think.

If he goes with that shit defensive mentality then we could get royally fucked - and more to the point the last remaining peopl on AM's side will surely turn on him

It will be totally unacceptable to concede this game before we kick off

team selection will be everything

McLeish has been overly cautious so far while he remains, perhaps understandably, wary of making mistakes. This one is an oppoprtunity to let some of the shackles off and go for it a bit more in a game where expectations are (as the poll here suggests) low. Nothing to lose - lets go for it.

For me that means Bannan & Jenas must come in.

It seems everyone can see it but the mug in charge - it will be depressing if at 10 mins before kick off the same old team is trotted out over the tannoy

I would imagine it will be horrible for Heskey as he will be booed before we even KO

3-0 Villa win. Heskey getting all 3 and 'answering his critics'. There will then be a Facebook/Twitter campaign launched in order to persuade him to come out of International retirement in order to replace Rooney for the Euro 2012 campaign.

The campaign will splutter to a halt once it's pointed out that it would take him at least 7 years to score another 3 goals.

Come on AM pick the right team with a positive attacking formation and have a bloody good go at the fackers.

I agree. But in all likelihood, we will stick with the outdated "in your face" attitude.

I get sick of the usual pre-match "there's no better feeling than beating United" or "United are the team to beat and we'll give it everything." We've been hearing that for 16 years or so and got nowhere. Other teams - lesser ones than us - can beat this prawn sandwich brigade and yet  it baffles me how even with some of our better teams we've never managed to beat the buggers at home once. I hope the players and the management can actually back their words up with the right attitude and commitment to win and we can do them over. because far too often in the past we've made it oh so simple for them when they've not been at their best.

Clark into defence for Collins would be a start - playing the traditional 2 blocks of wood in CB position against the fluid attack that MU normally provide would be crazy.
Play a midfield trio that can provide guile as well as energy.

Hmmm: that'll be the same team as last week then; gawd 'elp us, gov'nr.

I agree with all of this.  I've just taken a look at the official site, read the Manager's words and so on.  The whole small-time, institutional inferiority complex drives me mad.  It's been like this since we lost out on the title to them, I think.   When I hear Villa's side of the story I don't want to hear platitudes about Man Utd - I especially don't want them all over our official website.  Show them respect by all means but don't act as though we are a League Two club going starry eyed at the arrival of Real Madrid to our tiny little ground.  This small-time mindset that our club seems to have had ingrained within it since the days of Ellis really needs to go - it must make them feel they are 1-0 up before a ball is even kicked.

2-2 as we somehow manage to find a way to throw away a win against them yet again but we make it 4 years since they last won at VP.

It's going to be gruesome. I predict we will fail to score for the 3rd game running, it's just a matter of Man U being good enough to break through. I'll be eating my free pie to keep warm...... I'm really not looking forward to it and will be getting drunk afterwards and if Heskey plays i'll be berating AM to all that will listen!
