Welcome Paul.
A word of warning though if you see us as a stepping stone – the only manager ever to leave us for a bigger or better job turned into a turnip!

Good luck.

What make this appointment especially sweet is the sense that Lambert seems to really want to manage us. I remember having a similar feeling the day MON was appointed. When you look at O'Leary and Houllier, it was just a job and they didn't get us. With McLeish he just didn't get how lucky he was to be villa manager and hadn't the capacity to raise his game at a bigger club.

Lambert has the hunger, ambition combined with a realisation that villa is a sleeping giant. This just seems like the right appointment.

He was my pick 12 months ago. I'm absolutely delighted we've got him and feel optimistic about the season to come.

I am having a Great Day.

Woke up to find the wife horny as hell so...let's just say I didn't turn her down!  ;)

Ambled downstairs and saw the door mat full of the dreaded brown envelopes. Feared the worst but opened one of them to find a cheque for 1200 quid from the taxman. Totally unexpected tax rebate!

Went to Franky & Benny's and had a Full English with their scrumptuous herb potatoes (yes, they're back by popular demand).

Checked H&V on my phone to find that we have appointed the new manager that will bring the vibrancy back to Aston Villa.

It was at that point that I realised...I am having a Great Day.

Yep - agree with that totally IV. Really looking forward to the season - it's about time some of our players showed what they are capable of and this is the guy to make them do it. Really excited and just about to start some serious drinking!

Well done on the snotty cock and tax rebate, but you have my sympathy regarding Frankie and Bennys.

I have a very excited feeling inside that we're heading in the right direction again. Everyone at the club can now unite - I'm very happy with all of this.

Back at ya Supertom!

Yeah, apparently they got lots of complaints when they took them off the menu a couple of months ago, so they've reinstated them. Happy days.

I said when it looked like we were getting Solksjaer that I would prefer Lambert, he's exactly what we need. I just didn't understand the last two managerial appointments - you could just tell they were going to take us nowhere. I'm now looking forward to the season with expectation and optimism. Just hope he gets some money to spend because the squad needs totally revamped.
Welcome Paul.

Great stuff. It is all good from here. Let's put the recent ugliness behind and progress unto the glories we deserve!
