We all knew his da' was one, but very little came out about Domhnall and his siblings. Sometimes you get them rebelling against their parents and supporting someone else. Any ideas on the rest of the clan?

He mentioned it on a chat show a few weeks back to Patrick Kielty, I'm not sure about his brother. On that note, I find Patrick really grating, but I think that might be just me being a miserable bastard.

Watched that docuseries about Belfast during the troubles and was surprised to see Patrick Kielty on it.

His dad was murdered by Ulster Unionists. Think he was a business owner that refused to pay protection money.

Think his dad was shot by the UFF rather than the UUP.

That was my recollection too from that series. Absolutely  awful thing to have suffered as a teenager

We saw Patrick Kielty in one of those an 'evening with' type events, a year or so ago. He was very good, alternating between humour and mentioning his dad's assassination. He also spoke about his in-laws, and did a passable Brummie accent. The supporting act was John Meagher, a Northern Irish comedian, who was also very good (IMO).

Not sure this young man (29)qualifies for the term 'celebrity' just yet but he is on the TV here quite a bit and has a column in one of the more serious weekend broadsheets. He may be one day the Prime Minister of Portugal but in the meantime he's topping the ticket for his political party for a big job in Brussels.

Sebastião R Bugalho - self declared Villa fan. In one of his weekly columns after waffling on about politics, threw this in at the end (quick translation):

The suggestion: Aston Villa

If my dear reader is not a fan of football, this suggestion will be spurious. But if so, don't waste any more time. The Birmingham team's games in the English League have been a real delight.

From almost relegated to the Second Division last season to title contenders this season, they are a kind of Ranieri's Leicester, with style. Coached by Unai Emery, they had an absolutely crazy week, snatching victories from the champions (Guardiola's City) and this year's title contender (Arteta's Arsenal). Emery, who was fired from Arsenal in 2019 after just over a season, returned to the Premier League in 2022 with a revenge that has been served cold but sweet.

Aston Villa, sunk in the second tier from 2015 to 2019 and surviving almost relegation since then, competes directly with the giants in the most competitive league in the world. Check us out.

Ha! After meeting Frank recently I've been tempted to set up the real 'Lisbon Lions' but now I'm thinking what if it just attacts a herd of David Cameron's.

Honoury membership to Warsaw and Mad Martyn* of Islington? I might need a few comrades on my side.

*Love you really fella, ya big fat Tory.😉

King Charles has handed over the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to Prince William.

The King vouched for the skills of his son and heir during the official handover of his role as Colonel-in-Chief at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire, with the pair meeting in front of an Apache for a clear public message of royal continuity.

I wonder if Prince William will fly over in an Apache to Villa Park this evening?

Do you really? Or was this just another really tenuous link to post about the Royal Family?

I don’t think he will, no.
