This is the worst position we've been in since the O'dreary era.

Increasing match prices £43 against Wolves and Newcastle i believe, best players leaving and a boring defensive manager.

Talk to the blues fans and they say Hughton is a breath of fresh air compared to Mcleish.

Sad times ahead, low crowds will get lower when the results go against us. I think Mcdonald is waiting in the wings for when Mcleish gets the bullett!

A breath of fresh air getting stuffed at Southampton, if you're jealous of that then you've lost all sense of reality.

No, but thats where he took them!

Rather play attacking exciting football and lose 4-1 than play 10 behind the ball and lose 2-0

We need strong leadership coming from the man in sole charge - and since MON left we haven't had that...

Need something to change on the pitch. Clinging on for a draw is a dangerous habit.

You didn't go last night then.

Where did you get the idea that the Noses played exciting attacking football at Southampton? Reports I heard said they were shit and easily beaten.

If you can't see what I'm saying, you can't see it.

Yes that can be a problem...Have you thought about posting an audio file? ;D

that fella Mark Zuckerberg, thats who we need, he's got loads a money, and no friends so he wont mind it when we all boo him and call him names when we lose a game.

If you can't see what I'm saying, you can't see it. That's fair enough. I also happen to think it was one of the most shambolic appointments we've ever made; McLeish wouldn't have been anywhere near my shortlist and I refused to believe he was in the running until the day he was appointed.

But I can see why the board appointed him. Because they wanted a manager prepared to accept downsizing the squad, prepared to work within a tight budget in terms of player wages, prepared to accept that he wouldn't be given even half of the transfer funds generated by player sales. There was no point bringing in someone like Benitez, who would have had ideas and plans on a grander scale and would have wanted to bring in players of a certain class.

I don't understand why we didn't go for Hughes, though presumably he would also have expected Villa to be a big job with big potential, whereas the reality now is that we're probably fishing in the same sort of pond as Fulham and therefore not the step up he'd have wanted. Perhaps he was approached and didn't like what he heard. After all, whatever happened with Roberto Martinez, he wasn't sufficiently excited to push through a departure from Wigan.

One final thing, though: I wouldn't have wanted Curbishley anywhere near Villa.

We did go for Hughes according to one local hack but he didnt want to come to us.

Mark Hughes is world class supercoach on par with Lippi, van Gaal, Advacaat, Guardiola  Cloughie etc. He awaits Barca obvioulsy after a period of rest following performing miracles with Fulham. How can anyone think of  the Great Mark Hughes coaching any team other than Barca is behind my  comprehension.

I'd fuck McLeish off before it's too late and go and get Gus Poyet. Has anyone seen Brighton play under him? They play some terrific football, even against Liverpool the other night, so at least we'd play some decent stuff in the battle for the holy grail of 8th.

the answer is money and we ain't got none.

beyond that keep we club financially secure and stay in the PL & wait for either

A- FIFA financial fair play to kick in and hopefully work for us

or B - hopefully by being secure and in the PL wait for a very rich person (s) to buy us out.

I agree with you that, if as we did last season, are going through a period of transition, why not stick our necks out and go for an up and coming manager . . . Oh, didn't we try with Martinez, but he didn't want to even turn up for the interview.

Unfortunately the board wanted someone who can stick it out in the mucky end of the Premier League (which Martinez had experience of as well). As it seems no one on the board had any idea who to approach next or have any knowledge/links with English football, they picked the bloke closest to home.

It is all well and good getting good vibes from Dunne about how he is enjoying his football, but when a strong defence goes wobbly, we need to become creative, and that's where we are sadly lacking.

I would love to see what actually goes on in training

How can the manager not see our shortcomings?

having said that he thinks Ivanhoe could be a centre half so that just confirms what a fuckwit he is

I would bring in the revolutionary idea of playing people in their normal positions

Well he played the same way at Blues for 38 games last season and got them relegated so it just shows he only knows how to play one way, and that one way is fucking shite.

heskey as a link up man
Bannan as a winger
Nzogbia on the right instead of the left

I really fear for us this season, every other manager will know how to exploit our weaknesses but it's something we seem totally unable to fathom out.

When I played Sunday league football most of us were still pissed when we played but we all had a basic understanding of what we should be doing.

That twat of a manager was bigging up Warnock getting in behind the Bolton defence at the end of the first haf, he forgot to mention the ball ended up going out for a throw in.

The Board need to take the blame but so does AM, he's getting almost 2 million a year and hasn't got a fucking clue
