As I worried, we do look weak defensively on the right.

herd is being left severely exposed by n'zogbia for me.

He does not work the wing like Ashley did in terms of team play. Good on the ball and flashy, but need to settle into the role. He needs to get higher up the pitch too, seems to be getting the ball quite deep.

We are very poor in defence. It's going to be a long season. Expect some tankings against good oposition. After being top six steadily and pushing for higher this is very depressing.

Petrov sounds lively and we're certainly getting plenty of forward momentum.

Gabby the only one who looks dangerous

Agreed - that's why I think we should play narrower, with an authentic 3rd midfielder instead of Heskey and N'Zog and Gabby playing as support to Bent.

Perhaps we need Jarvis to complement our wing play ...

Definitely, Heskey's final ball and control are at best poor.

Well, I think losing LY will hurt more than might appear, unless we replace with similarly-effective defender. His cover-play was very important to us when he played.
Ideally we'd get two new FB - one for each side.

I know Wolves have started OK, but they're not very good are they?  I worry for when we start to have to play the good teams.

Selling Luke Young is absolute madness.
