The good things he does are far, far outweighed by his ineffectiveness for the rest of the game, though.



My point is, with Heskey he can can play as well or as badly as a lot of other players, but he only ever gets slated. Has he been any worse than Gabby or Bent today? He's done some decent work at times today, won a lot of headers and freekicks, made a crucial defensive block, and set up a few chances.

Agreed. Gabby has been just as useless but hasn't had as much criticism.
