I have a big house. I therefore propose that I look after the beach volleyball players from all nations.

Apparently Collins, Hutton and Bent have been named on over age list for summer olympics. If Bent ends up being in that, I assume he won't be going to the Euros?

Are you being drafted to the big smoke or just covering for those who have?

I'm off tomorrow for my Olympic Orientation. With no football to worry about I'm making a day of it and going to see what the Olympic park looks like.

I'm a bit worried after that Dispatches programme the other night - the officials were supposed to be staying in the Premier Inn next door but they appear to have pulled out of their agreement with LOCOG so it looks like we are fighting over who sleeps on the high jump bed.

Might have to stay at home and commute.

I will be covering for those that have been sent up to Dorset (on PSU duties). I doubt many from down here will be going to London other than those with particular skills i.e. search trained. It appears various forces will operate a shuffle system with those around the Met area going into the Met then the others backfilling if that makes sense.

I was just having the following conversation (on phone) with a bt employee as we have a problem with the phone line.

bt - "if you log in to your account online there is a code that enables you to buy tickets for the opening or closing ceremony of the olympics."
Me - "don't mention the bloody olympics as all my summer leave has been cancelled due to the games."
bt - "They are only £55 each"
Me - "How much will I get for them on ebay?"

Presume it must be 99 days to go now!

Will the BBC be having a countdown scrolling across the screen on the news channel?

Can't buy a product without a Union Flag on these days. perhaps we should have a competition for the most unsuitable use/product for our flag.

I'll kick it off with Australia's Flag ! ;-)

M5 North today at the Tewkesbury exit, the sign electronic said something like "Olympic Events. Make sure you leave plenty of time for your journey"

WTF ?  The Olympics are three months away and in any case, heading north on the M5 in Gloucestershire is just about as far away from any of the events as you can get.
