Good to see this book getting some more publicity.

I spotted it last season and Legion was then able to get it stocked in the Villa shop.

I believe that this lead to the author being a guest of the club for a game late last season.

Leeg and I were not included in the invite  >:(

I also reviewed it for inclusion in H&V a few editions back. Fascinating stuff, even if you have no interest in rounders.

The only known team photo (I think) has just emerged (they didn't have it in the book) after a player's great grandson read the Birmingham Mail article.

That's a high quality 121 year old photo, with the great man himself at the centre.

Superb. That's not in the book and it's the first time I've seen it. Thanks. Perhaps it was uploaded to the ProjectCOBB site after publication?

After the story was published in the Birmingham Mail yesterday, someone posted a comment and Joe Gray the book's author asked him to get in touch. Joe recieved the photo this pm and posted up on the project COBB website.

What if the name on those jerseys "Birmingham A V" had stuck?

Great story there, I had no idea we were the best at two sports too!
