......my other bets were Goosen and Garcia, so only Sergio left running.
Could be an interesting weekend.

Been a challenging few days of golf then.  If Clarke can hang on though I'll be so chuffed for him.  Did think Garcia or Westwood could do it but Garcia now looks to be too far back.  If not Clarke, Fowler would be a worthy winner.

Really hope Clarke wins, but Mickelson is on the charge.

Agreed, comes across fantastically.

Loved is comment about his celebrations tonight being long and involving a heavy hangover!

One of my most unashamedly emotional moments watching sport was Darren Clarke, with Ian Woosnam lifting his arms aloft at the ryder cup in 06.

Absolutely made up for the guy.

Fantastic.
Conclusive proof that sometimes the good guys really do win

I agree with taylors above as well, the emotions he must have been going through to play in the Ryder Cup in '06 so soon after his wife had passed away.

Norn Iron now have three major winners.

Incredible really for such a small nation.

Surely they deserve to host an open championship in the near future.  Royal County Down and Royal Portrush are both wonderful courses.

Maybe a Ryder Cup at Portrush? With Darren Clarke as captain?

I think the issue with those courses are their capacity to hold crowds and parking etc. The courses themselves are great.

There's obviously a few golfers on here.  I've recently been having a few lessons and I'm keen to get more time on the course rather than the driving range.  A H&V Golf Society would be good - have clubs, will travel.  Failing that, anybody in the South East fancy a game, get in touch.
